TRAINING
Training:
Amy Krueger takes limited horses or ponies in for training.  She works with green horses as well as horses that only require 'tune ups'.  All training techniques are gentle and progress-based.  Our pace is set by the horse.  There are very few training spots available.  Amy only takes in a few horses each month to allow enough time to be spent with the individual horse and owner.  Both full and partial training are available.  Please call for current pricing.

Trainer Bio:
Amy Krueger:

Amy's love of horses goes back as far as she can remember.  Her favorite childhood book was Old Rosie, which she not only had to have read to her every night before bed but acted out with her father being her horse! She grew up riding in the Alpharetta area with Leann Orr and Sunny Stevens.  Once she started riding, all other activities stopped and she was only interested in horses.  From a young age she could be found on the weekends showing at Wills Park with her horse and first love, Arizona (who is still teaching little girls how to ride today).  After graduating from Milton High School, Amy attended Berry College for her first two years of college.  While at Berry she rode on the Equestrian team.

In 1997 Amy started teaching lessons and training horses at the barn where she was boarding Arizona (where is where she is currently located).  In 2000 she relocated to Flower Mound, TX to finish her degree.  While in TX, she taught lessons at several barns, eventually leasing 50 acres and a 47 stall barn.  The business boomed and by the time she left that location she had 30 clients with 55 horses in tow. In 2001, she bought and showed a gelding named Parrot at "A" rated shows in the 4'6" jumper divisions. She traveled and showed with Parrot until she got married and then tried to sell him.  Unfortunately, Parrot had a hemotoma in his sinus and did not make it thru the second surgery.

In 2006 Amy and her family moved back to the Cumming area where she currently runs LSRC.  She, her husband and son reside in the Gainsville area.

A new trainer has just joined the ranks at LSRC, taking the more advanced students and horses so Amy can concentrate on her beginners that she loves so much!

Katie Miller:
Katie grew up riding and training in Alpharetta, GA. She, to this day, has never found another sport that makes her feel the way riding does!  This love she found at the barn with horses continued to grow as did her knowledge of the Hunter/Jumper discipline. She has trained and shown many different horses at several local and "A" rated horse shows and has had success during her 13 years of riding.

In her freshman year of high school at Forsyth Central, she began to teach beginner lessons to pay for her own lessons. She taught all through high school and at the end of her freshman year her father suprised her with her first horse "Annie", a 2 year old filly, which had only been ridden twice. Though Katie was very excited about owning her first horse, she was nervous because she had worked with many "green" horses but never trained a baby from start to finish.  Katie owned and trained Annie all through high school and during her junior year she began showing Annie at Wills Park and winning her classes.

In her senior year of high school, Katie decided it was time for a change.  She and Annie moved to Hillmar Farm in Gainesville, GA and decided to begin training with Michael Allen.  She and Annie continued to progress and moved up to "A" rated shows at Chateau Elan and Conyers. Sadly at the end of her senior year Katie had to sell Annie.  She took a year off riding and was miserable the entire time.

The summer going into her sophmore year in college she and her dad stopped in at LSRC just to see if she could do some riding before school started up again. That is where she met Amy and the LSRC family and was hooked! Little did she know that this decision would turn into a truly life changing experience that presented her with many opportunities.

Katie is currently a junior at Berry College in Rome, GA.  Her passion in life is training riders and horses.  She thoroughly enjoys teaching more advanced students and turning "greenies" into show horses.  She has ridden with many trainers and taken several clinics with trainers such as Katrina Lambert, Ben Goggel, Jamie Comstock, Hank Bloom, Janet Salem, and Michael Allen.  She has also recently started taking dressage lessons with Lauren Weil at Bigtime Eventing to continue her eduacationin riding.  Katie is planning to begin to apply for her USHJA Trainer Certification.
Amy with her first love, Arizona!
